Our Policy on Repairs: A Commitment to Unbiased Reporting

To ensure the complete integrity of our findings, Thermavision intentionally does not perform repairs as part of our thermographic survey service. We believe our role is to be an impartial and objective diagnostic partner, providing you with a trustworthy assessment of your equipment's condition.

This arms-length approach is a cornerstone of our professional ethics and serves two key purposes that directly benefit you:

  1. It Guarantees Impartiality: Our assessment of any compliance or safety issue is completely objective, with no conflict of interest.

  2. It Ensures Trustworthy Results: Our findings are never influenced by the potential to gain additional repair work. You can be 100% confident that every fault we report is a genuine issue that requires attention.

The Single Exception: Improving Safety & Efficiency On the Spot

There is one, very specific exception to this rule, performed only under a strict set of conditions. As described on our safety page, our technicians may tighten an easily accessible screw terminal while investigating a thermal anomaly.

This is not considered a repair, but rather a final step in the diagnostic process. It is only ever performed if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The client has pre-approved this specific live-terminal tightening procedure.

  • The temperatures involved are low-level and do not indicate a severe fault.

  • There is no visible sign of damage to the terminal or conductor.

  • The terminal is physically confirmed to be loose.

If these conditions are met, the terminal may be tightened and immediately re-examined with the thermal imager to confirm the fault is resolved.

The Rationale: This practical step provides immense value. The fault is documented, but it is fixed on the spot with no extra time or cost. This prevents the need for you to schedule a separate call-out for a minor fix. On a large site, this process can safely resolve hundreds of minor issues in a single visit, drastically improving the overall health of your system and saving significant time and resources.

If your own electrician accompanies our team, they can perform this action, and our report will document that the fault was rectified by your staff during the survey.
